Sue, 38, is an actress who travels
extensively and spends several weeks in hotels while filming
I enjoy my work
and I enjoy traveling to various cities and spending weeks at a time in these
cities shooting movies. However, I am
sick and tired of staying in hotel rooms that all look and feel the same. I wish I could personalize or customize my
hotel room so it could feel like my home for the weeks that I will be living
there.
Tom, 28, is a baseball player who spends
months in hotels with his family during the baseball season
I enjoy having my
family with me during the playing season.
Our permanent home is in Florida, however during the season, we stay in
Atlanta since my team is based in the city.
As such, we spend over six months in hotels and hate having to order
food items from the hotel menus. We wish
we had the ability to have chefs prepare specific meals for the family and meals
based on my trainer’s requirements.
Johnnie, 48, is a musician who lives in New
York but travels extensively to Atlanta to record his albums
Atlanta is my “second
home”. This is where I record my
albums. I spend more than half the year in
the city and I love it. The only
challenge I have is that I have to stay in hotels when I travel to
Atlanta. In fact, sometimes I “live” in these hotels
for at least two months at a time. I
wish I could customize my hotel room so that it feels more like home. It would make me less homesick!
I definitely think there is a niche market and you have correctly identified the gap in the industry. It makes perfect sense. In my previous job I had to spend at least a week every month or two on the west coast, eating outside and the hotel stay make it very worst. Even if you stay in the same hotel every time it does not any comfortable. After reading the consumer problem you have mention, I could easily relate to it. The question I have is how much more customization is possible. The bigger players should be able to afford much more and I bet they will appreciate much more customization like own furniture, TV which they can pay for along with special food etc.
ReplyDeleteBased on the customer complaints, it appears that there is an issue with staying in the typical hotel rooms that have the same décor and are unimaginative. Of course, this makes it difficult for people who have to stays in hotels for extended periods.
